In addition to the People Center, there are many other resources available to the people of Ottawa County in times of crisis, stress or need. Check out their web sites by clicking on the agency names.
Love Inc. Love Inc. provides the budget counseling for the guests at the The People Center transitional apartments. They also have many other ministries to help people in our community. They are located at 1106 Fulton, Grand Haven, MI, 49417. (616)846-2701.
Center for Women in Transition The Center for Women in Transition is a West Michigan organization helping women that face domestic violence.
The Holland Rescue Mission The Rescue Mission is for families that face an emergency housing crisis.
The Salvation Army The Grand Haven Salvation Army has several services available. They can provide food, rent/utility assistance and they also have Fresh Beginnings, transitional housing and Sister Bernice's House, emergency shelter for women with children. Community Action Agency Ottawa County's Community Action Agency can help with utilities, weatherization, prescriptions and housing. Please call for details. (800)764-4111 Ext. 5616.
Department of Human Services (DHS) formally FIA Ottawa County DHS can help with medicaid, rent/utilities, food stamps. Please call for details. (616)394-7200.
211 of Ottawa County When you dial 211 from a landline phone, you will get 211's call center. They have a database of all the area resources. This is a wonderful asset to our community. When you don't know where to turn, call 211.
